WE Center for STAR Women

WE provides technical support, business training, and access to microcredit loans to refugee women in San Diego. Here are a few of their stories...

Name: Lia Woldu

Country of Origin: Ethiopia

Her Future: A community college student, Lia is working toward a degree in child development. Her goal is to open a preschool.

Her Business: Licensed in-home child care. With a $4,000 loan from the IRC, she was able to buy a car big enough to transport the children in her center. She also received a small loan from the WE Center for Star Women to purchase toys.
