WE is raising money to provide business loans for the women of Sonora, Mexico. Here are a few of their stories...
Small loans have helped Amalia Bacasegua and her husband expand their furniture business.
With help from her loan group, a GDLF client recovers physically and financially
Using wood she gathers along the Rio Mayo, Amalia Valenzuela Bacasegua makes two large armchairs a day. She and her family also make masks, decorated with goat hair, and paintings. Her chairs sell for 300 pesos, or $30. Amalia had a stroke right after she received her second loan. The women in her group at Grameen paid for her loan until she could pay them back.
