We highly value our relationships with the women who receive loans in the countries where we assist. To build these relationships, WE conducts regular tours to Mexico, Honduras and Ghana. These tours have included visits to microfinance loan circles (borrowing groups) and individual women’s businesses. Participants routinely express the inspiration they take away from these trips. Read about our upcoming trip to Uganda this summer!
Women's Empowerment International offers free seminars to any person or group interested in broadening their understanding of microfinance. During our four-hour seminars, participants learn how microfinance works, how it helps the poor, and how Women's Empowerment and our partners work togeter to provide microloans to women.
This is how Yoga Circles work: WE members participate in six weekly 75-minute classes that are taught by certified yoga instructors. The suggested minimum donation to participate is $100, and goes to support WE’s programs.
In a WE Circle, a group of friends meets to make a difference in the lives of the world's poor. With guidance from Women's Empowerment, each WE Circle chooses one of WE's programs to support, meets regularly to learn more about poverty and microfinance, and establishes a common fundraising goal. Circles can support women borrowers in San Diego or in our international programs.
WE grows when friends introduce others to our work. You can help us by hosting a WE introductory group in your home. It's simple! Just invite a group of friends to your house for wine and appetizers, or tea and cookies. We will send WE representatives who will discuss the work of WE with your friends and explain how they, too, can help.
Our members are the strength behind our endeavors. Becoming a member is as simple as making a donation. Members:
